Having
Tree Root Problems?
Root problems can be very annoying and expensive
to fix. Fortunately, root problems can be controlled through the
use of either Roebic K-77 Root Killer or Roebic Foaming Root Killer
(FRK) shown below. You will need to choose the root killer that
is right for your particular situation. Both of these products kill
invading roots, but they will not "burn or "corrode"
the roots out of the system. After the root is killed, it will begin
to degrade via microbial action in this bacterial rich environment.
It is this action of root degradation which will "clear"
your system.
In Septic Systems - If you
have either a septic tank and a drainfield, or a cesspool and a
seepage pit, and you are experiencing root problems; then you should
try these root killer products shown below.
K-77
Root Killer
K-77 Root Killer destroys clogging tree and shrub roots from pipes
fast. Saves costly digging and power rooter service. Just pour down
the toilet and flush. Not available in Connecticut and Bay counties
in California.
*Not available
for sale in the State of Connecticut or in the California counties
of Alameda, Contra, Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco< San Mateo,
Santa Clara, Solano and Sonoma.
K-77 Root Killer
K-77
Root Killer can be used as needed to kill troublesome tree roots,
thereby restoring proper working order to the system. This product
works without harming surrounding trees, ground cover, or the natural
bacterial content of the septic tank or cesspool. However, if your
system has no flow at all, then you should first have the system mechanically
cleaned out before treating with K-77 Root Killer. The reason for
this is if K-77 Root Killer cannot get to the roots, it cannot kill
them. K-77 Root Killer should clear your system of roots in anywhere
from 2 days to 2 weeks. The time it takes depends on the severity
of your root problem, and where in the system the root problem is
occurring. If you do need to have the system rooted out, wait 3 to
4 weeks after this is done before applying the K-77 Root Killer.
Some of you may need to use Foaming Root Killer (shown below).
If you have a septic tank and the tree root infiltration is either
in the main waste line (the line that brings sewage to your septic
tank) or in the tank itself, then you should use Foaming Root Killer
to kill those invading roots. See the discussion below entitled
"In Sewer Lines".
In Sewer Lines
- Do you have roots that are clogging a sewer line? If the answer
is yes, then you may have a potentially costly problem.
Directions
for Use:
Use at night before retiring.
Pour 1/3 of bottle into toilet bowl and flush. Immediately
repeat this step until all of the product has been flushed into
the sewer pipe. For low-flow toilets, additional flushings
may be required to completely remove Roebic Root Killer crystals
from the toilet bowl to the sewer pipe. You may also add
contents directly to the septic tank drainfield through the distribution
box. Add sufficient water to carry crystals to root growth
in pipes.
Do not apply Root Killer through tub or sink drains.
Foaming
Root Killer
Foaming Root Killer is a new patented product which foams on contact
with water to fill the entire pipe line with the root killing agent
dichlobenil. Foaming Root Killer is recommended for severe recurring
root problems.
Foaming Root Killer
This unique root killer, which does not contain copper
sulfate, foams on contact with water for superb results. This product
also contains ingredients that help speed up the decay process of
the roots that it kills. This enables you to experience fast relief
from your root problems. (It should take Foaming Root Killer, from
2 days to 1 week to clear your line) Your system must have some flow
in order for the Foaming Root Killer to work properly. If the Foaming
Root Killer cannot get to the roots, it cannot kill them. Foaming
Root Killer is the product of choice in southern, semi-tropical areas
including, Florida, the Gulf states, desert Southwest, and Southern
California.
Other Areas:
Do Not Use These Methods In California
ALONG SIDEWALKS AND DRIVEWAYS:
To inhibit the entry of roots beneath pavement structures and the
resulting damage caused by root growth, cut a 3" or deeper
edging along the structure and pour 2 oz. per foot of Roebic Foaming
Root Killer into a thin strip. Then cover the edged area with
soil. Repeat annually to prevent root growth near the surface
along sidewalks and driveways.
IN BETWEEN ROOTS AND SEWER LINES:
To prevent long term root growth from the tree to the sewer lines,
a series of small holes 2 feet apart, may be bored into the ground
near the offending tree or outside the sewer joints using water
or mechanical boring equipment. Add 4 oz. of Roebic Foaming Root
Killer per hole and fill with soil. Be sure that the holes location
and depth is directly between the offending tree and sewer line.
Repeat annually to prevent root growth in between tree roots an
sewer lines.
If used regularly both K-77 Root Killer and Foaming Root Killer
will work to maintain a "root-free" system and help to
avoid the inconveniences that result from root clogs such as back-ups
and surface break outs.
